Health Care Vote- Is there anyone else as confused as me?

I am usually an informed consumer. I am having a hard time following the progress of this vote.

First of all when I go to whitehouse.gov the information there is about the original proposal not the current version.

My understanding Senate bill is a dumbed down bill with provisions for student loans, it has tax of medical devices, it cuts the benefits current Medicare benefits. It does away with the popular Medicare Advantage Program. There is a huge grant given to Nebraska to pay for all the Medicaid Issues. Not to mention the abortion issue. I am sure their are more.

Is the reform anyone wants?

Should politics with kickbacks be attached ?

I hate when someone does this. You don't like what someone said, so you attempt to make them feel small. You knew exactly what that question meant.

If you can open the link it will be clear that the post was humerously pretending not to know the President meant $3,000.00 when he slipped and said 3,000%.

I thought if humerously ironic that the poster also slipped up.

Well every day, there seems to be a new part of the bill that is new, President Obama said that every child today has health care under this bill.....which the bill states that it does not start for 4 years .....many of these uninsured people will have to apply for medicaid - they qualified before the bill, why would they apply now ?

. So I guess the Pres and I share the confusion- he claimed a 3000% reduction in health insurance ( which he retracted) and now promised children health care today but not really......

The new bill will make insurance "affordable" for many that currently can't afford coverage. There will be subsidies to help the unemployed and low income. Businesses will be encouraged to provide health care options to their employees, again I venture to say not many employers provide "free health care", there will be a cost. Parents will be able to keep children on their family plans until age 26, again premiums will increase. Many people that are employed had opted out of health care for multitudes of reasons, these people will now have to contribute to the health care system to some degree whether they like it or not. I think alot of people feel this new bill is "free" health care when its truely not, more people will have to contribute to the system than currently do. I am undecided how this will all work out in the long run but I guess time will tell.

My hubby was informed his insurance would now require a 3k deductible and that is before co-pays will even start, and of course he still has to pay the weekly premiums.

Give the pres a break. Its hard for him to give straight and correct figures from this bill to all of us. Especially considering he nor anyone on his staff have probably even read the entire thing yet. But enough to pass it

This bill is not about healthcare at all, it is to redistribute wealth. That is what max baucus of montana said, and what vice president Biden said. It takes from those who have, and gives to those who have not. That is marxism. The bigger government gets, the more it controls everything, and that always equals less freedom. No matter what corrupt party is in charge, bigger government is a hindrance to a free people. The constitution was put in place to LIMIT the government, and what it could do to you. No where in it does it give congress the power to mandate that the american people purchase anything, even if it is supposedly to our own good. That is governmental control, and is on its face unconstitutional.
