If you had a tip for an actor/actress playing a nurse what would it be? Is there any medical shows that come close to being believable? What's your favorite medical show?

I agree alot of them on tv are more sex kittens then nurses.

Need to show more burned out nurses working in under staffed units with management constantly demanding better performance while at the same time refusing to hire more people.

I remember on Scrubs Dr. Cox was storming down a hallway taking off his gloves in a huff, and he was struggling, trying to pull them off at the fingertips. Proper glove removal was the very first thing I learned on the first day nursing school!

Best TV nurse ever? Ann Perkins from Parks and Recreation.

Peter Petrelli from Heroes is a hospice nurse and switched to being a paramedic later on. It's pretty cool since this character is one of the main super powered protagonists in the show. There are tons of nurses in Supernatural, but they are usually clinically unsafe since they are possessed by ghosts. Lol.

In the beginning of ER, like the early seasons, they did. It sounds like the discussions we have now -- how the hospitals prefer new grads (well some anyway), issues with the nurses' union, how they overall distrust the higher ups (I remember the one where the nurses had an illegal strike because they were getting pay cuts) so when the DON offered to step in, it was semi obvious she had been away from the bedside too long. They were about to make Carol Hathaway the scapegoat for why the nurses' strike was their fault, but she was saying she would take the blame for herself, because it was her mistake, her license, not theirs.

Oh, and there was Malik the LPN -- when the strike was going on, he said, "Um...yeah, I kinda need the money, and my pay isn't getting cut because I'm an LVN. I'm cheap."
