Hi all I need some help and advice. My license is on probation for a Positive pre employemnt Drug Screen and I can not get a job. No one wants to hire me with this in my Lic. Any suggestions. Im in recovery and doing the deal. Im at my wits end!

It can be very difficult to get a job. All I can suggest is to be honest, do the next right thing.....(all the time)....and pray. Maybe you could find a nursing job that doesn't deal with patients or medications....:wink2:

Check in your area for a Detox Facility. I work at one and alot of our nurses are in the program and have had some sort of action taken against them. Just an idea.. Also how did you get off with just prob? Did you have to go into the nurses recovery program? What was in your system? Sorry if I sound nosy. A friend of mine tested positive on a pre-employment test, before she had even pasted the boards, and she is going thru hell right now.

Mine was a bit odd to say the least. I provided the board with the stuff they wanted. Did their evaluation etc....what it boiled down to was that I had sufficient amount of evidence FOR my case so they couldn't really get me on anything. It was laid out to me that if I went before the board with my case I would have to take what ever punishment they inflicted or take the consent agreement from them. I took the later. all I am required is to submit to monthly UDS, Narc restriction and employer eval quarterly. Its hell getting a job. Best of luck to your friend. The board is a pain to deal with. its their way or no way. Thank God this falls off in March 09! A friend got caught in possession of etoh at 17. she is now 24 and just passed her boards. The board is giving her hell too...

Detox jobs are hard to come by....Don't know why? Maybe I m looking in the wrong place. I have a few interviews and have been honest with the lot. I have a nursing home thats willing to hire me. I think my HP is humbling me this time around.

I wish you the best. It can get so discouraging at times. I have daily ups and downs. I am so trying to be humble. My HP has blessed me more than once. I am still here.

Thanks for the support. Please say a prayer for me today. I have an interview soon and this job would be a godsend. I also have another interview on Monday to for Hemo. I have no experience but they are willing to train. God ( I chhose to call my HP this) He closes one door and opens up another.Teaches me a leason and gives me a bit more spirituality. took another 3rd step the other day. this time on my knees! WHOA. Thats a huge spiritual step for me....
