AZ Nurse Needs Job
Check in your area for a Detox Facility. I work at one and alot of our nurses are in the program and have had some sort of action taken against them. Just an idea.. Also how did you get off with just prob? Did you have to go into the nurses recovery program? What was in your system? Sorry if I sound nosy. A friend of mine tested positive on a pre-employment test, before she had even pasted the boards, and she is going thru hell right now.

Anyone ever work in Detox?
Hi.. I work in DETOX!!!! Oh what fun.. I have been an LPN for 2 yrs and I was hired at the hospital I work at as a new grad. I was hired as "the med nurse". I am the only med nurse on my unit, about 26 pts. Over the past two yrs I worked my way out of the med room and I now do everything the RN does.. You have to have an understanding of addiction in order to do well with these pts. They are sick, physical and mentally. I have my frequent flyers, who I love dearly, and I have my first timers, who I respect greatly. Overall I love it. Some of my friends cant understand why i do. Its not a place for everybody. Give it a shot. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck.

LPN/LVN rate of pay in your area.
Hi I live in Worcester, Mass my base pay as an LPN is 21.63 plus dif, so I make 22.88 on weekdays and 23.88 on weekends.. Not bad for an LPN with only 2 yrs exp. It is a private detox hospital so they pay alittle better than the local hospital. Downfall the benefits are not that good...

What I Love About Nursing Is....
I love being there for people when they need someone. I love being the one that they turn to. I love the fact that I learn something new everyday. I don't know what I would do if I wasnt a nurse..
