Nurse/ Midwife from Sydney, Australia, possibly moving to Seattle...

Hi there,

I'm currently a RN as well as a registered midwife in Australia and may be moving to Seattle if my partner takes up a job offer over there.

Can someone please tell me what I need to do to obtain registration over there in the US to be able to get a nursing/midwifery job in Seattle?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

What visa will you be applying for? First step would be meeting state requirements. Check out the state and see what requirements are for foreign trained nurse. You also have to pass NCLEX before a license will be issued. Probably a different process to be recognized as a midwife which may involve extra training and sitting further exam
