by jancRN Jul 31, '12Hi! I'm a Filipino RN and earned my nursing degree in a university here in the Philippines. I'll be moving to Nevada sometime next year but I'm planning to start processing my NCLEX application before I leave. The thing is, I really don't have an idea as to how will I start. (And I felt like I'm having information overload and going back & forth looking at NV-BON, CGFNS and NCSBN websites!
)
Can anyone help me please?

One more question, do I have to take IELTS/TOEFL or do I just ask for a certification from my school that the language of instruction is in English? I'm a bit confuse about the "Validation of English Language Proficiency" part.

An english proficiency exam is mandatory even though they taught us in English in the Philippines. Philippines isn't a recognized country. I would suggest you start the CGFNS CES report as soon as possible. It seems that Nevada is asking for additional classes for students to take in order to sit for the nclex. Just recently a filipino grad got a letter stating that they can sit for the boards if they take a physical assessment course. Another requirement is a medical surgical course. It may vary from students. I don't know how the board concludes on what subjects the student needs to take in order to take the exam. It may be due to grades or lack of information. Best wishes to your application!
