Local nursing license REQUIRED in Nevada 2013

As reported by perioddrama, ALL international students will be required to show proof of their country's LOCAL nursing license to apply into Nevada now, EFFECTIVE Jan. 1, 2013. Thanks for bringing light to this matter.

This is due to what happens when the BON's start to see applications submitting FALSE documenations from other countries.

I would not doubt one day soon, that any State's today not requiring your country's local license will soon be part of the regular application as much as presenting a valid SSN.

While it's true that in the Phils at least, if one is of dual citizenship, you're not allowed to take the local PH exam, but there are instances where that's not true and some still manage to take it anyways. My point is I'm sure the BON's may accept a waiver of the local license if one falls under that status, but may then require other hard proof of evidence that one did attend an overseas school via passport stamps, original airlines boarding passes (who keeps those), etc.

The proof of burden is upon each and every applicant. If one is unable to prove themselves, I'm sure the application will be rejected until it can be properly documented.

I'm not sure if they will accept the passport option to show proof as I think if these RECTO fakers can duplicate school transcripts and records, they can also do the same with passports with "stamps" on them, that's why a copy of the local license is needed, as the BON can easily check if one does in fact possess a valid local license, as the names and numbers have to match up.

i think this new requirement is also the result of CA rejecting the mass majority of international students especially from the Phils as NV is seen as another "fast and easy " State, plus it's closest to the majority of the PH grads and nurses family ties. That door will be closing soon, as NV also is enforcing the concurrency rule.

These greedy and deceptive nursing students and nurses will go to any length to get licensed somewhere, then try to endorse their license into another State. I hope that if they are caught it will be reported to the other nursing boards and they can take legal action against them with severe penalities that will greatly affect their wallets and purses.

All this does is hurting the honest and hardworking students and nurses who have "earned" the privilege to become real nurses, not buy and cheat their way to a license. The honest and hardworking students and nurses who have done their time to become a nurse.

I would not be surprised if soon, TX will require the local license as well. Just follow where the greedy and cheating PH grads and nurses are going and I"m sure the TX BON is aware of the false documentation being submitted to them.

Kababayans, we need to stop these real terrible PH students and nurses who have caused this mess and I for one, will report anyone I know to that State's BON in a heartbeat. If it's my own mother and aunt (luckily for them, they are not nurses, lol), but seriously, turn them in and do us a hugh favor!

Besides, it will then open up a job for us honest students and nurses.

Just wanna know if Nevada is still open for me since I'm planning to take up my NCLEX in Nevada, I'm a local board passer in Philippines, just graduated last March 2012, and just got my immigrant visa this month and going to US next year by March. I'm looking for states that has no concurrency issue. Thanks in advance for answering my question. :)
