Hi NepalRN, I don have answers to your questions but was wondering if you would share your experience of applying to CA with me. I am also applying to CA BON to endorse my license and I don't know where to start. Did you apply to the board forst and then send the forms to Nepal? Did they say anytihng about Med/Surg requirements? Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

Since everyone might have different course evaluations and depending on what schools you graduated from it's hard to really know. The only thing you can do rather than guessing is to submit your endorsement application along with all the requirements and your non-refundable fees. The final decision will be made by the CA BRN and it's still all good, you're approved. If not, then you'll know what issues needs to be addressed.

There have a couple of Nepalese nurses who recently passed the CA NCLEX-RN in the NCLEX forum, you may wish to wander over there, but again, you just need to submit everything to the CA BRN and go on from there. Good luck!

I'm assuming that you have a current and valid PH license and a SS# allowing you to work in the states?

You have a unique situation: PH grad from 2003. I say that because there have been a few successful PH nurses who were able to get endorsed into CA from another state. I think the CA BRN is more laxed about those graduating from the Phils prior to 2004-2005. But since they already had their US RN license and just wanted to endorse, they were granted. In your case, you don't have a license to endorse yet.

So I'm not sure if the CA BRN will require you (but I think they might) to provide them your copies of your clinical cases. There was someone here who tried to endorse her out of state license, had a hospital job offer lined up in CA, but she is unable to provide the clinical case copies and so far, not sure if she was able to get the CA license and stays to have her application go into the "abandoned" pile.

CA BRN gives you one year from your endorsement application to meet the missing requirements or it's considered abandoned.

The best and only way to get your concerns answered is by applying and sending your non-refundable application fees.

hi, i just a a litlle bit of question, did you pay for your credential evaluation?

hi, i just a a litlle bit of question, did you pay for your credential evaluation?

CA BRN does their own transcript evaluation, so there's no need to pay for the credential review. With that in mind, this is where 99% of most PH or foreign grads gets their application denied or rejected as there's a very high percentage that the transcripts will show some deficient courses.

Of course, go ahead and take your chances like the over 6,000 PH plus applicants applying to CA (of which only a handful have been granted the ATT in CA since Nov. 2011) and just know that once the CA BRN receives your package and opens it (for processing), any and all fees submitted will not be returned even if rejected or declined.
