Hi!

Does everyone here only applied for jobseeker visa in norway? Because I heard that applying for a student visa would be much easier. I already passed my papers to SAFH but I am considering the possibility of applying for a student visa.

Hi guys! I have a question :). Do I still need to process papers for SAFH even if the visa I'm planning to apply is residence permit for skilled worker to learn Norwegian?. Then, maybe while studying in Norway, I'll get to fix my papers for the authorization? Is this possible? Im just wondering. Hope to hear from you guys. Thank you so much.

and @Jacob Abraham: I'm not so sure myself, hehehe. I suggest you backread and try to visit this site, English â€" sak.no Hope this one helps :)

goodluck everyone :)

Hi allison_1327!

I think you don't need to have your SAFH license yet if you would be applying for a student visa. SAFH license is only required if you're applying for a job seeker visa. If, for instance, you would apply for a student visa, you could apply for a SAFH license if you're already there in Norway. Or at least, that's what I know, because that is also my plan. Anyway, I hope that helps. :D

Hello khent! Thank you for you response :) Are you also from the Philippines? When do you plan to apply for a visa? Anyways, where do you plan to enroll for the language course? I've been searching from the net, and the cheapest I could find is from Oslo kommune 50 Nok per hour? However, you can't reserve for classes thru net. You need to go to their office in person and present your passport but they can't guarantee you for a slot. Some says that they've waited for 3 months in order to have slot in there. Some has no choice but to enroll in private language schools, the problem is that everything is really expensive in Norway. The tuition Plus the accommodation, food, transportaion, and other expenses. I just hope that we could find a part time job while studying even though we can't still speak there language. :))Hope to hear from you again :) Thank you so much :).

hi allison_1327!

Yes, I am also from the Philippines. I'm planning to apply for a student visa probably next month. As for the language course, I'm planning to have it anywhere within Rogaland fylke, though I would prefer Egersund or Stavanger, since I have relatives there. I think the price is 40-50 NoK per hour, at least that's what my aunt told me. I also heard that it's very difficult to have a slot there, since they prioritize those refugees that are already living there. Are you planning to go to Oslo? Have you already taken Norwegian language courses here?

@khent

I am planning to apply early as soon as possible. I just still don't have that big amount of money :(. Did you apply for the authorization from SAFH? Please keep us updated if it wont be a burden to you :). Actually,I don't have any relatives there in Norway. All I have is the guts to live there without knowing anyone and of course my dreams and hopes for my future. I am still researching where to study there. I don't know what city is best for me. I don't know what are good language schools are there other than what I've been reading from the forums which are usually from Oslo. It would be much better if I'll be in a place where accommodation is cheaper but of course without sacrificing the quality of a good language school. Hope to hear again from you. Have a nice day. :) Thank you so much :))

Alright with me. :) Yes, I also applied for a SAFH authorization, but I haven't received the giro yet. As for the city, I can't give any decent suggestions since I've never been there. LOL. If you won't mind me asking, where are you located in the Philippines?

I'm currently at Rizal province :). Did you apply already for the Visa? Well same here, I haven't been there and I don't know anyone there so its kinda hard haha. I based from everything I read from the internet. I actually plan to apply for the authorization when I'm already in Norway (hopefully). but, I'm not sure if the Embassy will recognize me as a skill worker even without the authorization from safh. :(

I guess we're too far then. Hahaha. I'm from Cebu. Anyway, I haven't applied for a visa yet. As for the license, even if we don't have a SAFH license yet, we are already considered skilled workers. As per definition from UDI, skilled workers have "university education. The requirement is a completed degree or study programme. Examples include nurses, engineers, Bachelor or Master's degrees". SAFH license only grants authorization for us to practice our profession in Norway. Are you also a nurse? How many years have you been working? Do you already have the requirements for the visa, especially the information about housing?

Actually, I only have 8 months of hospital experience from our province in Samar :).How about you? So, when do you plan to apply?. No, I don't have it yet, but I am already doing some research :). I guess its not that hard to find accommodation if you have money and if you already know when are you arriving there :D. Now, I m just more on research. Researching for language school (which gives me headache by the way coz it's really expensive!), accommodation near school so lesser fare expense?. hmmm, what else? I guess these 2 are the most important. :). Have you find yours already?school and accommodation?
