Hi seaciel,

I'm new here, and I am very interested with these forum. I have so many questions in my mind and I do not know how will I ask it. From what I have read in your posts, you do not have any hospital experiences but you still passed all your documents to SAFH, right? Did they gave you a license already? And what license is that? And did you start to work there in Norway? I hope you will reply to my post.. Thank you so much.. And I hope who also reads this post can also reply to me.. I have so many questions really.. Thank you so much..

God bless all Rn's here.

Hi hansame_15. As what is stated in this link http://www.safh.no/english/forms/formguideline.htm

" The various attachments to the application must be certified copies. Do not send original documents.

* How to certify copies?

All copies attached to your application have to be certified page by page. By certification we mean a stamp and signature form the certifier. The certifier confirms the copy and the original documents being identical. The stamp has to clearly show the name of the certifying institution.

* Who can certify?

A notary public, lawyers and public offices (municipalities, county authorities state offices, NAV) are entitled to make certified copies."

Just have your docs notarized.

Apply for a Residence Permit to look for jobs (Skilled Workers) Visa or Entry Visa for Specialist if you have an employer.

According to this link http://www.safh.no/english/index.html "SAFH draws applicants' attention to the requirement that all nurses educated/trained outside the EEA must take a course in Norwegian national subjects (National Insurance Regulations, etc.) in order to be granted authorisation as general nurses in Norway."

Good luck.

Hello pengRN,

Good day. May I know what did you applied for in SAFH? Is it helsefagarbeider or hjelpepleier? Or the general nurse? Honestly, I really cannot relate because I am new here. I hope everybody will help me. I am also a PH RN.

Is it like these? To be able to work in Norway as a healthcare practitioner, one must obtain an authorization from SAFH? is it right? Then after obtaining authorization from them, do I still need to study the bridging course from a university or college?(correct me if I am wrong. thanks) or I can now apply for a working visa? (what if you were already staying in Norway, then you will apply a working visa there? is it possible?)

or I can now look for a nursing home who will hire me then after that I can apply for a working visa? I also read that it is necessary to learn norsk, isn't?(What if you already know how to speak and understand norsk, is it already a plus from the employer?

And also, is it necessary to pass all the necessary documents to the SAFH without hospital experiences?

I hope everybody who will read this post will reply.

Thank you so much to all.

God bless..

hansame

Hi, i am planning to work in NORWAY as a nurse. anyone knows an agency? thank you

hello all,

i see a lot of hopes from many people here. let me just tell you a couple of things applying jobs in norway. its no quick way, its not that easy, and you really need to look at the requirements. i see many have high hopes, and i just want to inform about the realities, not crush someones dreams. but let me assure you, if you are lucky enough to get a job in norway, filipino workers, especially nurses, are well respected and have a good reputation. it's just the laws that makes things harder.

here is your main objectives to think about:

- you need to have a job offer in your specific skilled profession.

- or you can apply job seeker visa, but you need to show you have over 800 000php in your account to cover your stay while you try to find a job. and i can assure you, if you don't have a very cheap or free place to stay, you will spend a lot of that money just for daily living in the 6 months your job seeker visa is granted. maybe in very rare cases they can allow you to come if you have a sponsor or guarantor, but highly unlikely. then again, who take the chance to guarantee that kinda money for someone, lets be realistic, in norway that's a lot of money too.. also this is a job seeker visa, so if you don't find work, you have to return.

- you need to speak norwegian, no workplaces in norwegian healthcare use english as a main language.

- about getting your papers approved as skilled workers, the www.safh.no who is responsible for this, only approve your papers. they don't give you automatically a reason for a visa or a job. it's the hospitals and healthcare places responsibility to hire people who has the correct education and skills.

- don't use agents or listen to people who wants a lot of money to guarantee you work, it's no easy way and there is no way to pay your way to a job. just read the links below, and look at the other pages there too if interested in other opportunities. there is opportunities here too, even if i sound negative.

- another thing to think about, is the size of norway, it's 4,7 million people. right now in the official page www.nav.no, there is in this moment about 700 jobs full time for nurses etc. you have to apply together with other norwegians and eu citizens coming.

i've been to the philippines, and i like it there, but when it comes to take advantage of other peoples hopes, i'm not impressed. stay away from agents who promise work in norway quickly.

i refer to these links in english:

http://www.udi.no/norwegian-directorate-of-immigration/central-topics/work-and-residence/apply-for-a-residence-permit/skilled-jobseekers/

http://www.udi.no/norwegian-directorate-of-immigration/central-topics/work-and-residence/apply-for-a-residence-permit/skilled-workers/

For me, this is just my opinion, it may be difficult to work in Norway or to get a visa, or it is hard to learn the language, or we need a total of 800,000 pesos for the show money, etc. All countries have different requirements, and you cannot enter and work to a specific country if you cannot provide those requirements, but still, Filipino nurses are able to manage and make possible ways in order for them to get a work permit, able to learn the language and provide 800,000 pesos. After all, there is no "easy" way to get a work permit or the work itself. One must undergo necessary procedures and that's the reality. It so happened that there is no opportunity for nurses here in the Philippines that's why they were looking for opportunities abroad, be it on saudi, dubai, libya, qatar, norway, canada. etc. One must make a living, not for themselves but for their FAMILIES.. Yes, there is a negative saide, but for me, I will be looking forward to a positive side, after all, God is just beside us, He will never leave us.

God bless us all nurses.

Have a nice day ahead.

=)

Hi everyone!

I am just wondering how long will you need to stay your show money in the bank? would a 2 months of bank statement be enough for the application or should it be a 6 months bank statement? Please fellow nurses help me. I really need an advice. Thank you!
