13 states with same CA BON concurrency issues

i knew of the recent vt denials and just as of yesterday my friend's letter of rejection from az, same as ca bon's reason.

let's all thank our ched, prc and pna for doing a "great" job of not meeting the states minimum educational requirements.

i'm sure that this will also affect other countries not just those from phil.

"ony those states that have explicit education requirements of concurrent theory and practicum will philippine nurses have licensure issues.

excellsior college new york nursing graduates have had same issue recently. see state board licensure requirements here

these are states having concerns over concurrent therory and practicum, so i would look at other 37 states to obtain license:

alabama

arizona

california

georgia

illinois

kansas

louisiana

maryland

north dakota

oklahoma

vermont

virginia

washington "

Hi kuya fern do u have some idea about the requirement in WA state? Do they require local license? .. Thanks

I would suggest calling Washington State about this. I've looked at the application form and there was a portion that said to list the license from a country/or state trained. I don't know if this means it is required. Just have concurrent cases, so that the state won't require you to enroll. WA does enforce concurrency issue.

Some of the facilities in Oregon requires Washington state license.. Is there any other way for me to get Washington License if I already have Oregon license.. I have problem with concurrency issue.. what is the best option?

thanks steppbay for this info..Maybe i dont have choice or else go school again for this concurrency issue...

Hello guys, anyone here know what is the email address of the Licensing Analyst in CA BON?

i APPRECIATE IT thanks..

16 now, if NY and NJ are truly going to enforce the same concurrency rules, as NV just started also, as based on another poster's love letter received in Aug. 2012.

I think the next couple of States will soon be FL and TX, those are the most other popular States to work in for USA educated nurses.

Of note, FL BON has this nugget in their May 11, 2012 Policy Planning meeting: "A motion was made ... that a competency assessment is implemented for individuals educated outside the U.S. who are attempting to take the NCLEX examination. Motion was seconded. Motion passed unanimously." Source (p.3 of 9)

We shall see how that will play out in the upcoming year.

Hi! I think I'm one of you guys. I've just received a letter from BON CA that my NCLEX-RN application was denied and I'm required to complete additional course work, in short I need to enroll AGAIN! :drowning:

By the way is there anyone here tried to contact the schools (from the list of approved schools provided by BON) and planning to fix their documents? Any advice or updates regarding this concurrency issue? thanks

For possible schools that may offer the two classes, see this thread and post number 43: https://allnurses.com/nurse-registration/problem-applying-nclex-682634-page5.html

Also see this thread and post number 571 for more detailed information about one of the schools: https://allnurses.com/nurse-registration/ca-brn-new-631735-page58.html

Good luck.

You don't need to be licensed in applying CVS for NY state. They just need to evaluate your credentials and compare it to NY state minimum requirements.
