What rank will a NP joining the AF be commissioned as?

I am in the process of studying for the great and applying for grad school. I will be getting my MAN degree and want to work as a NP in the Air Force. Im planning on joining once I get my degree, but was wondering what rank I will be. I have a years experience as a RN already and by the time i graduate i would have had my RN license for 4 years.

Please help!

I just finished COT at Maxwell AFB last week Friday as a FNP. You will get 6 months service credit for each 1 year of work experience (type and setting varies and does matter). By 4 years, you'll have 2 years service credit which bumps you up to 1st Lt. Then with the masters degree, you may still be a 1st Lt because you won't have that FNP experience because you'll be coming in as a new grad FNP into the active duty air force. But when you get to your base, there may be a slot open for Capt so be on the look out for your Unit Manning Document.

What is an MAN degree?

I think the OP might have been posting via a cell phone. He/she probably wrote MSN and the cell phone thought it was smarter and that MAN was better.:devil: The post also said the OP was studying for the great and I think that might have been the GRE before the all-knowing cell phone "corrected" the poster again. HUGE pet peeve of mine, can you tell? LOL

The reason I asked about the degree is that in the Phillipines there is an MAN degree and it is not the same as an MSN.

No... the MAN degree used to be called the MRS degree. I thought that was what most females went to college for? j/k
