Telephonic NP with optum health

I recently came across a job posting for a telephonic NP for LTCs. The hours would be overnight I am assuming for when their in house provider has left for the day. Anyone with any experience with this?

Thoughts on liability issues considering you may be asked to prescribe or order things and you are doing this remotely without the advantage of an appropriate physical assessment.

Hmm, sounds like constant on call. I wonder how many calls you would expect. Do you mind sharing a ballpark salary for that kind of work. When I'm on call (telephone only), the pay is $1500 from Fri at 5p to Mon 8A. I get anywhere from 50-100 calls.

There was no salary posted. I know this company pays in the 120k for my area for their house calls NP and their LTC NP positions. Not sure if the telephonic NP salary would be comparable.

When you are on call what type of facility or demographic patient population do you cover? Seems lilke 100 for a weekend is a lot. This is long term care so I'm not sure what type of volume of calls to expect.

Our patients are mostly managed care, over 65. We had to divide the city due to the volume of calls so each of us cover 3-4k, I would guess.

I'm getting ripped off, lol. When I take call for the weekend, it's 7a - 11p for $150/day. We get approximately 20-30 calls a day. No matter where you work on call, there is a liability in ordering without the benefit of a physical exam.

Does this pay include bonuses to equal the 120k? i'm currently being offered around 110k for salary for the ltc position.

No way in hell that should be happening. I make that for PACU call- and that's before the phone rings. That's less than $9 an hour for the liability of writing orders without laying eyes on the patient? I hope the other aspects of that job make up for it!
