I'm looking for anyone who has went through one of these programs and how much did it cost, how long did it take, were you able to work full time and still manage? Any info would be appreciated because I am wanting desperately to get into a school asap.

Thanks

Hello, JentheRN05,

Have you actually applied to a school? If not, you could try:

There are others who will come along here shortly and help.

I am just starting an NP program, but I can tell you what I know so far. I am going part-time (6 hrs/semester = 2 classes) and my tuition was about 1800.00; books for one class = 235.00 and probably about 150.00 for the other one. I am working PRN 4 days/month and have a school-aged child. I have been assured this is very *doable.*

I work with an RN who works full-time (TDA program where she works every weekend) and goes to school full-time and she says it is manageable...but she has no children, etc.

Is this an distance course? That's specifically what I'm looking for. I have started an application process through St. Francis college. But I have a hard time getting in touch with them. I've sent several emails with no response. I welcome all suggestions.

How long ago did you try to contact them?

Do you have a direct phone number to contact them?

It is a local university based program, but a lot of the coursework is distance learning. With these two classes I have exactly 4 dates during the semester that I *must* attend class.....otherwise the lectures are all on DVD.

Specializes in ICU, Correctional Medicine, Adolescent.

I am currently enrolled in the online FNP program at the University of South Alabama. The tuition is pretty reasonable, however my employer is footing the bill. I would reccommend the program so you should check it out. They offer FNP, GNP, PNP, WHNP, ACNP, MSN-CNS Public Health, MSN-CNS Education.

Hope this helps!

I have researched South Alabama before. They do have a good program. Also, a Psych/Mental Health NP/CNS track.

I am currently making some career decisions and was wondering if there were any male NP's? I am sure there are some somewhere, but realistically is this an option for me?

Oh, my, yes. Numerous male NPs out there.

What area are you interested?

Maybe some of the males will answer here. You could start a thread all one your own about this, too.
