I have a friend who is a CRNA and besides being paid well he also has a killer retirement/benefits package. For example 401/3K employer (doctor group) contribution 15% of base salary and then he contributes 10%. For a total of 25%.

I have done a bit of research and I know what the average salary is for a FNP in my area but what kind of benefits packages are out there? Is anyone out the getting something similar or even close? I'm interested in knowing precents rather then dollars.

Really, really can depend on where you work, how bad you are needed and your contract negotiating skills.

If I stay where I am at: Retirement fund, 401K and add to that SS...

Depends on salary and all. May vary from states to state (or not be available) but a job with a school/teaching hospital can get what is called teachers retirement...

Military: Work 20 years and get 50% of your real pay (estimated??)...

I work in nephrology and get $17% of my base pay from my physicians to invest in a retirement plan....excellent benefit!!!!
