Hi all,

Quick question.... when you are looking for jobs and the job listing only specifies Nurse Practitioner (not family or acute care) does that mean the job does not care which one? (I'm still a BSN student...I have today off...I was just looking at hospitals I'd like to work as a NP at one day in the future:geek: )

Specifically I was looking at Duke University hospital today:geek: the only NP they specified was for MHNP.

TIA

Specializes in Adult Nurse Practitioner.

A lot depends on the setting. ERs, Urgent Care, etc most often utilize acute care prepared NPs.

Thank you lhflanurseNP! I wish they had an NP that could be both!

My experience has been the opposite as they usually take FNPs due to being able to treat children.

Specializes in DHSc, PA-C.

Yes, that would mean they don't care if you are family or acute care NP. They will consider either.
