New Jersey: Time to receive APN license?

Anyone have a clue how long it takes to get your APN license once you send all the materials in and ANCC verifies your certification and your school sends transcripts? I have a job already, and my new boss (doc) keeps asking me how long it will be before I get my license. I asked him if he has ever had the pleasure of dealing with the NJ BON! No, of course not.

I'm not in NJ, but I've been waiting on my license from my state BON for about 3 weeks only to find out ANCC never sent the results :-( Call and verify your results were sent.

That's good advice. Thanks!

I am still waiting for my ANP license too. It has been about three weeks after I sent all my info to the board. Good luck.

Still waiting.... And now when I call, I get "voicemail inbox full" types of messages. This is absolutely maddening. Especially since I think they send you a letter and then you have a pay another fee and then... But I'm not sure, since the NJBON is very good at keeping everything a secret. Sigh. My friends in Pennsylvania got their licenses in 2 weeks!

With NJ underwater - is your BON even working this week?

IL takes a long time - I know.

Yes, state offices were closed Monday and Tuesday. It's not that; I surely understand the disaster changed a lot of things. It's the endless nonsense and delays from the get-go a month ago. Why are other states able to do this process quickly and efficiently? In fact, why are other state agencies in NJ (like the Education Department) able to process licenses more efficiently than the BON? Especially maddening because our license renewal fees and application fees fund the BON. Oh, well. Back to my endless waiting. And not being able to work as an NP, despite being certified 5 weeks ago!

AtomicWoman can you message me? I'm in the South Jersey area and just started an NP program, would like to ask you a few question.

Anyone have any recent experience with getting an APN license in NJ?

From what I've heard, the NJ board of nursing is absolutely horrible. They take months to do anything and give the run around if you try to call.

NJ BON was fine took a couple of weeks. The school went too took a few months before they submitted the correct information.

All I can say is, submit your materials as soon as possible and stay on top of them! The squeaky wheel gets the grease at the BON. I try to have as little as possible to do with that agency! It took them 3 months to verify my APN license to Pennsylvania, where I was applying for my CRNP license. 3 months! Good thing I didn't have a job in PA waiting on that; I would have lost it!
