I'm an Adult-Gero NP, can I become FNP?

Good afternoon, I am an Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. I am wanting to add certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Are there any FNP programs available that won't ask me to repeat my Adult-Gerontological hours? (I worked 600 hours and took 1 year of advanced Adult-Gero content and don't want to repeat if I can help it) I have checked out some post-Masters FNP certificate programs, but most of them are geared towards Nurses that have a Masters in Education, and are not set-up to accommodate Nurse Practitioners in another specialty. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you!

I would do the PNP. Seriously. It will take you the same amount of time, give you the pediatric component and you will be specialized in that area.

I see no point in doing the ANP and the FNP.

What about Women's Health, was that covered in your Adult-Gero? (paps/prenatal care etc) if it was then PNP might be all you need. If not then post Master's FNP may be what you need.

Look at UMASS of Boston. They have 12 credit programs to do that. There are clinical hours involved. I just did adult/gero and had to complete 300 gero hours. It's a nice and quick program.
