I read post after post of awful co-workers and I'll admit that I'm still in the honeymoon phase with my new job, but not only do I like and get along with my co-workers, there's NO bickering or backstabbing that I can see and I've yet to hear one of my co-workers complain about management! I find myself coming home from work in a pleasant mood, even if it seemed like everything was flying every which way at work due to a kerfuffle or a change in someone's status. Teamwork is not just a concept that I remembered learning about in school.

I'm finding myself reluctant to delegate not because I don't trust my co-workers, but because I *didn't* trust my old co-workers and felt more likely to hear "you're there already; why can't YOU do task xyz even though it's something that can wait and I respect that you have other work to do?" than "oh here, let me see what I can do to help". No one is jumping down my throat and I'm encouraged to take my 30 minute lunch even if things have been a little hairy and I've been running up and down the halls, or so it seems.

Yes! I love my job ( most of the time). I love my coworkers and my charge nurse is an angel.I have been there almost 6 years.I consider them my friends.

Good for you. It isn't like that everywhere.

Specializes in Emergency Room, Trauma ICU.

I started in the ER 8 months ago now, been a nurse for 3.5 yrs and I love where I am and my coworkers. Too many places people will be nice to your face then stab you in the back. Luckily I haven't seen that where I am, but will continue to be cautious!
