Watts School of Nursing June

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Wanted to see who else is going to Watts (Mt Olive) starting in June. I just got my acceptance letter today! Wondering who my fellow classmates will be!

just curious- how long after you sent in your "reservation" for your spot did you get the call from MOC? i feel like i have been waiting almost 3 weeks. should i call them?

She told me today after she gets your name from Wattts, it takes her around three weeks o get your file ready for MOC. I bet you will hear from her in the next week. She said there is 45 of us for June.

fvcheer- do you happen to know how many people they are ultimately going to have in the May class? I'm waiting to get my background check and was really hoping to get into the May class. I thought they only took 50 per class. Also, have you ever heard of anyone getting this far and not getting in? There's been no mention of it so I'm really curious. I'm over 40 and noticed there's a lot of "over 40" people in the May class, which would really be nice.

Red68,

I also heard that the class size is 50 to 60 people.

I'm sure you're probably progressing fine - it just seems everything in this process takes time. I probably could have been in the January 2011 start, but everything took longer than I thought. Hang in there and good luck!

Does anyone know how much the semester at MOT is?

Red68,

I believe the going rate is $380 per credit hour. You're required to take 18 hours.

I'm a little worried about my transcripts.....even though it was 24 years ago since I was in school. Does anyone know if that weighs very heavy on their decision? I was hoping they put more thought into your essay and your references. I have a "friend" who is a neurosurgeon at Duke and he read my essay and said it was really good.... I only hope Watts thinks so too. Does anyone know how long it takes from when you turn in your background check? Mine usually takes longer because they have to get stuff back from Vegas and that always takes a lot longer.

Red68,

Sounds like we went to school at about the same time. My grades were "okay."

I would guess they do also rely on the essay and references as much as your

grades from 20 years ago, but I am guessing.

I think it took a week to hear back after my background check...if I remember right.

AAndroes,

AAAAhhhhhhh!!! I'm so jealous of you!!! I just want to get started. Have you heard of anybody passing the test and their background and not getting accepted? My grades in HS were less than "ok" but for very legitimate reasons... It was more of a "didn't go" issue. Way too long of a story to get into here. I'm hoping that if they are concerned about it, they will ask me and I can explain it to them. I'm hoping that since I passed the test with good scores, that should mean something.

Red68,

I haven't heard anything except what's posted on this website about Watts. I, personally,

wouldn't worry too much about your high school grades. I can't believe they would give

them that much more weight than your more recent testing, along with a good essay and

positive references, etc.

But again, I have no insider info, just my own thoughts about the whole process.

I just got my acceptance letter!!!! YAHOO!!!!!:yeah::up:

Red,

I think the background check is a good sign! Not sure how many for may, but she did say there were a few more places. My background check took about a week.
