UNC Chapel Hill (Spring 2010) January 2010 - Anyone Receive Word?

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Just checking, I posted a response in a separate thread, but thought a new thread could hold its own.

I applied to UNC Chapel Hill's Nursing Program for January 2010. BSN Program, not ABSN. Already, I have received two confirmations from students that have received acceptance yesterday into the ABSN program.

1. Has anyone received word about their acceptance into either the ABSN or BSN program?

2. Has anyone received word regarding "no offer" of acceptance? And, if so, what are your plans going forward if you did not receive an offer.

I am obviously anxious and waiting for a response. Just checking to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

Thanks and good luck, everyone! :)

Hi everyone,

I posted in the other thread but thought I'd write something here as well. Still waiting...normally I am a patient person but this is killing me! I'll let u know soon as I hear something.

I just called the UNC Nursing office and they said that the letters have been sent out and we should hear something this week. Also, the "respond/accept" date is Nov 20 (atleast for BSN). It looks like Nov 18 for ABSN.

This waiting is driving me crazy. I guess the good thing is is that nobody for the BSN program has heard anything yet.

If I hear something, I'll update everybody.

Hey guys-

I posted this on another thread but I thought I would let you guys know that I got accepted to the Spring ABSN program. November 18th is the respond by date and Nov. 30 is the first pre-orientation day. I will be going to the Nov. 30 pre-orientation because I am just so excited. I hate that there are others still waiting. I want to celebrate with you guys!

I did not get an email just a letter from the School of Nursing.

Hopefully since everyone has to respond so quickly to Carolina that others will start to find out!!!!

I heard Nov. 7th which was last Saturday.

momofthreeboys - congrats on getting accepted.

I think those that get accepted and have been posting on this forum, should get together once people are on campus (Hopefully I will be part of that group!)

hmm, i don't know how to do the quote thing on here...but, @tazluff don't be discouraged! i'm sorry, i didn't mean to cast any doubt for anyone at all. i apologize if i did so. people do get accepted who are enrolled in prereqs - i know a girl who was accepted who was in two prerequisites at the time of applying - so do not let that get you down.

fingers still crossed for everyone!

thuscwspake - I'm not discouraged and I didn't take the wrong way or anything. I'm just really anxious and I just want to know one way or the other so I can get back to concentrating on work and Micro.

My fingers are crossed!!!

thanks for calling, taz! a friend of mine that applied to the bsn program was told the earliest letters would be sent out (for what i assume would be the bsn applicants) would be last friday or monday. your confirmation falls in line with that. and, thus, i imagine we will be seeing something by tomorrow (thursday) or friday. if i don't get anything by saturday, however, i'm gonna start getting worried. :(

an excellent idea, taz. although i have friends in the absn program, and others that have applied bsn, we'll all be, more or less, going through the process together. of course, all those accepted into the absn and those in the bsn would definitely benefit from getting to know one another since we are talking 1.5 or 2 years of seeing the same faces day in and day out. :)

i plan on forming regular study groups too, so keep that in mind if you are interested in group study. we've been getting a's on everything as a result, and those with less than a averages have been either bumped up considerably or moved into a territory themselves. it's a great motivational opportunity too.

i also plan to get a group together on face/book and organize opportunities for volunteer opportunities or events if anyone is interested. it will be an exciting time, and i hope all of us here are accepted.

My acceptance letter was postmarked Nov. 4 and I got it on Nov. 7. I thought that was an extraordinarily long time for mail to get from Chapel Hill to Raleigh. Just sayin'!

I applied for UNC Jan 2010 ABSN and haven't heard anything yet. The waiting is driving me insane!

I haven't heard anything yet, either. I live in South Florida, so maybe it's taking awhile. . .

Well, be prepared. For everyone accepted, be ready to respond quickly. And a word of advice... when you send your acceptance letter, send it registered with a return signed receipt. Never leave anything to chance. Such precautions have saved my lil booty many a time. :)

Still nothing in the mail today - ugh!!!

Hey everyone! Well, here is some good news - I got my letter in the mail today (I applied for the BSN option and live in Chapel Hill). I got accepted! You will indeed need to let the school know by November 20 of your intentions.

Best of luck to everyone still! I hope you all hear soon!

thuscwspake - congrats on getting accepted. Hopefully mine (and others) will come in the mail tomorrow if they didn't get it today. Again, congrats!!!
