UNC Chapel Hill (Spring 2010) January 2010 - Anyone Receive Word? - page 11

Just checking, I posted a response in a separate thread, but thought a new thread could hold its own. I applied to UNC Chapel Hill's Nursing Program for January 2010. BSN Program, not ABSN. Already, I have received two... Read More

I had just received notice last weekend that I was in, so I haven't even went to an orientation or anything. Have you already been to one? I'm not sure if there's any left to attend, they're supposed to be sending me the cd/packet and hopefully it's stocked full of information. I just feel completely in the dark!
We only had the preorientation. Orientation will be the Friday before class start. However, most of the information regarding compliance, financial aid, background check, etc is on that CD. If you don't get it soon, let me know. I can probably send you any document, privately, via email (I won't post them on this site).

Don't worry about a thing. There's quite a diverse group of people accepted into the program willing to help out their fellow nursing student. That support, I hope, will only grow stronger. The staff are incredibly supportive, too, toward those accepted, and they are a great resource for information. Don't hesitate to contact them (although, I'm not sure of their holiday schedule).

There's some info I just can't post here due to privacy issues. But, rest assured, we are all here for each other. Just be prepared to work hard. It's not easy, but it will be worth it. Yes, indeed!

C2CNurse2b, thankyou so much for your reassurance, I woke up this morning with loads of anxiety. I am so very thankful to have been accepted but "the unknown" is driving me crazy. They were supposed to mail me my packet yesterday so hopefully I'll receive it first of the week. I just don't want to start classes feeling totally unprepared. Will the packet at least get me started as far as what books to get, etc? Do classes start the 11th?

Yes, classes start the 11th, but we'll all be there for the formal orientation on the Friday prior (8th). As for the books, you'll need to sign up for your Onyen account. Since you've been accepted, you should be able to do that now with your PID. Once there, I'm guessing you were already registered since we were all registered by staff for our first semester (exception: labs, we must do that ourselves... still sections open). Through "Student Central" via your Onyen account, you can look up your account and see what books are required. I'll hit you up with a complete list via email should you not receive anything by, say, Monday. Just let me know.

Hi C2CNurse2B, did you happen to have a copy of the IBSN numbers for our books, seems like someone told me they did and I can't remember who. If it wasn't you, do you know how I could go about getting a list? Thank you so much for all your help!!

Hey nogames, I'm in the BSN program starting in january 2010 - so first off, congratulations! I have a list of the ISBN numbers for those classes. Can you let me know your email address so I can send them to you?
