UNC & Duke ABSN- Spring 2014

I am new to the forum and wanted to see if there were any others applying to either UNC or Duke's ABSN program for the Spring 2014 entry?

I know this has been discussed in other threads, but I am a little apprehensive about the tuition at Duke, esp. now since they have done away with the repayment program they once had. On the flip side, I would love to end up at UNC, but know that it is very competitive!

Anyone out there currently in the UNC ABSN program that can speak to the application process/ chances of acceptance?

I am recent graduate (got my B.S. May of '12) with a 3.5/3.6 cum, all A's in pre-reqs except a B in stat and will be taking Micro this summer (but planning on an A!). I also have a lot of volunteer experience in non-clinical settings and clinical (currently work as PT tech, medical mission trip, and ~400 hours in other clinical settings- mostly in PT departments though)

Any other waistlist folks know if we should hear soon since the 1st round deadline has passed?

Hey hrcr, I am also on the waitlist. I have not heard anything yet. I think that because Duke selects via a holistic process, they create their waitlist pulls after they receive deposits, that way they have a rounded class. However, the facebook group only has about 40 people in it so I'm hoping that they would pull some from the waitlist. I would expect to hear by the end of this week or next week at the latest. Hope this helps.

I received an email today from admissions saying that the system was down but I was accepted. I would check your portal tomorrow for updates.

I know this is considered private information to some people, but I was just wondering if some of the accepted students could please post their stats (Overall GPA, Prerequisite GPA, ECs, etc...). I am looking at all of my options to become a nurse and I would love to be as prepared as I can be if I decide to do the ABSN route. Also, if you could state which school accepted you, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

I know I am late but congratulations to everyone that go in. I too got in and I am so excited. I will be commuting from Raleigh to Durham and I am not too excited about that. Is there anyone on here who got in from Raleigh?

Hello, I am applying for accelerated bsn. Deadline is Dec. 1. Unfortunately, since December 1 is Saturday, the post office is delivering my transcripts on December 2 (Monday). Do you think this will be considered late?
