Relocating to Charlotte

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi,

I was hoping to get some responses to this. I am looking to relocate from AR to Charlotte, NC. I have 5 years experience in a Level III NICU and am wondering where in the Charlotte area is a great place to work with good pay. Can anybody give me a ballpark estimate on pay btw? I have no clue what it is there?

Thanks,

I have recently relocated to the Charlotte area. I am an RN with two years experience. The interview I went on today gave me a base rate of about $22/hr with $5 differential for nights. It sounds like that is pretty average for the area.

As for NICUs both Presbyterian and Carolinas Medical Center have Level IV NICUs, some of the smaller hospitals outside of Charlotte have Level III.

I hope someone else can chime in to help. :)

I live in New York, and I'm planning to move to Charlotte Next Year. I only have 1 yr experience in Dialysis. I'll take any assignment in NC Hospital. So $20 to $22 is the average pay with no exerience? I'm already applied for a NC License.

I heard that Charlott is a very good place to live...Please Lord make me get the job that was promised!

LPN's are making 20-22 in charlotte... They are low balling you. I make 27...

How many years experience do you have making 27/hr. I'm asking because I just relocated to charlotte and I'm going on interviews with presbyterian and cmc and just want to know how I should negotiate my salary. I'm a ED RN. Whats your area of specialty.

I cannot help with pay rates and job market but I do live in Charlotte and i HATE IT A LOT

I love my neighbourhood and will miss it when we leave,,,BUt Im over Charlotte,

Too many rude people....mostly did it for me.Yes I know rude lives everywhere,,,,but something about Charlotte makes it seem worse

Traffic can be nightmarish...but as much as I dont like it...it isnt utter heck(cant curse on here...lol)

Lots of shopping and great places to eat....lol

Decent public transport

JUST BE CAREFUL where you move to....rent can be awful....

It's interesting that you say..I live in Virginia and am ready to leave for the exact same reasons you want to leave Charlotte..please say it isn't so

I don't live there, but I have relatives and associates who do, and I've been in Charlotte from time to time since the late '80s. I think the white populace as a whole is generally pleasant and well-mannered, and definitely much more gentile that what I have in my impoverished blue collar ex-mill town up North, which is why I am bailing on it.

Now, I am a WASP female, and also I lived in the South for over 15 years before I moved back to Trash Dump, so I "get" the Southern culture really, really well, and I prefer it. But perhaps if you are a different ethnic background or race, you might have a different experience than mine in Charlotte. I don't know. I just want to say that I found it a pleasant place overall, compared to the bitter old Rust Belt, and I would prefer to live there than where I am now.
