Need Info on NC

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hello,

Can anyone give me input on which areas of NC have low prices for houses

(and low taxes), preferably under 100,000 for 3 bedroom. I saw some

in realtor.com near Greensboro area but are there hospitals nearby that

have decent starting salaries for RN's? I am from NJ --my salary is good

but compared to house prices, my family still cannot afford a house here.

We are looking for a place where our money can go "further"

We would like a more rural setting. Any info would be great =)

Thanks...

Check the Eastern areas of the state: Edenton, Rocky Mount, Greenville (outlying areas), Washington, Belhaven, Plymouth, etc. A simple search should turn up much affordable housing that meets your criteria.

Thanks--Are there any hospitals near those areas that you

mentioned that are nice places to work???

Pitt County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) is considered the premier hospital in this area of the state.

I was wondering, did you find a job in NC? I'm in the Craven County area and there are 2 hospitals within 40 minutes of each other plus a military hospital right in the middle. I just moved here and haven't done a job search yet, but housing is super affordable & the weather is gorgeous! Totally different from what I'm used to up north! And the people are even polite and wave, LOL.

The northwestern area needs nurses and are practically on their knees begging. The Winston Salem area has Wake Forest University Baptist and Forsyth Medical. If you don't have kids, the Northern Area of Forsyth County is affordable and a decent area. However, if you have high school aged children, I would advise a surrounding county such as Stokes or Davidson. Greensboro also has Moses Cone Hospital, but the area tends to be a little pricey to buy a home in, but you do have surrounding counties that are affordable. High Point Regional and Thomasville Medical Center are also in that area close to Greensboro. Also remember that the cost of living is lower here than in NJ, so your starting salary may be lower. Good Luck!

Hello, I am a nurse from NJ and I have within the last year purchased some property in Rockingham County.I was just in Greensboro and interviewed with Moses Cone and was hired. My husband and I rented a home in Reidsville and we will be complete with our relocation by October. Compared to NJ, realestae is very reasonable . We will be building a home, construction will begin in a couple of weeks. I am so happy with the Moses Cone Health System and area. I wish you luck and if I can help, let me know

Western North Carolina certainly has a lot to offer. Prices on homes vary with how high your standards of living are....as in most places....Its hard to beat the scenery of the mountains....if you are an outdoor person...please don't move somewhere for the money....find outwhat truly brings happiness to you and your family and then find a place that compliments your life.....

hello, I am also moving to Greensboro in a few weeks and I am interviewing with moses cone. What is the starting pay or new grads and what are there sign on bonuses like? If you could give me some insight, i would appreciate it. Thanks.
