Lpn to Rn at Carolina's college of health science

Has anyone attended this program as an Lpn and how difficult was it? I'm thinking about applying but I have a couple more pre reqs to take!

Anyone attended this program in NC as Lpn to Rn?

LPNs go straight into the intermediates since they get to skip NUR101. I just finished my intermediates (hooray!) and graduate in December (another hooray!). The RN program is CHALLENGING -- by far the hardest thing I've ever done in school -- but I don't know how it compares to LPN programs.

How hard was it to get in? I'm starting Anatomy & physiology 1 tomorrow!

It's extremely competitive to get in since they don't take very many students and they don't carry waitlists into the next semester. Out of the 60-65 spots available, there are usually 25ish spots that are taken by the pre-nursing students who earned guaranteed admission so that only leave 40ish spots for 300+ applicants. Over half of my cohort already has at least 1 Bachelor's Degree. High grades and high SAT/ACT scores are really important!

I heard they took more students than that? So being that I'm an LPN should I do pre nursing or nursing??

I have a nursing diploma and associates degree. I've taken sat a long time ago so I don't remember my score I may take the act!!

They admit twice a year so 65 ish in August and again in January. They can only have a certain number of students in the program at one time so numbers change. They recommend retaking either the ACT or SAT if your score is low. I would call the school and ask about pre - nursing vs nursing.

I was told I wouldn't be pre nursing bc I'm an lpn & that the lpn program was by itself. This was a lady at college I spoke with.
