ECU Alternative Entry MSN Program - Fall 2013

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone was going to apply to ECU's Alt Entry MSN program this Fall for a Fall 2013 start!

I originally was going to apply to Duke's program, but after a lot of research and deciding, I came to the conclusion that I couldn't justify $100,000 in loans with about $87,000 in private loans. I would imagine it would be an awesome experience and all, but I don't want to put myself in such a position with debt!

I am returning to ECU this Fall to take my pre-requisites. I graduated from ECU last July with a BA in German and a minor in Art History, but I've decided to go back and become a RN, so I can become a CDE. It sounds like the Clinical Nurse Specialist concentration is the best for me.

I know the application due date is kinda far away (December 1) but it would be nice to chat it up with others that are applying!

I got a phone call yesterday to set up an interview January 7th. I had been told that I wouldn't hear anything about interviews until mid january.

KJohnson, are you native to NC?

Yes I am, I actually graduated with my bachelors from ECU and live in greenville currently. What about you? Have you heard anything back yet? I know that they will now get back into their office until January 2nd to begin scheduling more interviews.

I haven't yet. but then again I am not a ECU grad, nor am I from NC.

So they have already started contacting people to do interviews?? @KJohnson2013 when did you submit all of your materials and what was your GPA if you don't mind me asking.

I didn't finish editing my statement of purpose until november 29th-- so that was when I finished submitting my complete application. My GPA was a 3.67, but my GRE was not anything outstanding by any means. I know they are still notifying people about interviews and have heard they will continue to do so into february. I wouldn't worry about anything! I hope you get an interview soon, and let us all know when you do! :)

Thanks I hope so! I called the Nursing Department today asking them about a prerequisite and the lady told me that they were considering doing an Accelerated BSN program next semester possibly. That's sort of good news. I would love to do the ABSN, but of course the AE MSN is more convenient with already having a bachelors degree. Just a little news I wanted to share with you guys.

I think I was in the room when you called! I heard the receptionist on the phone talking about that!

has anyone else heard anything?

I still haven't. Waiting...impatiently. How did your interview go??

It went well-- short and sweet. It lasted only about 25 minutes, so I was surprised how short it was.

Just got a call for an interview! KJohnson: I understand if you don't want to help the competition, but if you are feeling generous: what were some of the questions like? :)
