Duke University ABSN Fall 2013

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hey everyone! I submitted my application to Duke University's ABSN program for fall 2013 a few weeks ago, so I wanted to get some conversation started! Is anyone else applying?!

I'm in AGONY. I hope they send rejection e-mails as well so I can know for sure.

Ahhh, fingers crossed for y'all to get emails soon!

I hope too!!!!!

I've been lurking here a few days and am so glad I found this thread. I got my invitation to interview!

Good Luck everyone

Make sure you check your junk mail, too. Mine was in my junk mail folder.

Well, I still haven't heard, so I'm going to assume a rejection and move on. I'm excited for all of you! I'm blessed to have a job as an English professor, so I just need to stay positive. Nursing has been an unrealized dream for me, but perhaps I'll get lucky with Georgetown. Good luck to all,, and God bless!

ProfessorT, don't give up yet! Also, have you read the book Critical Care Nurse? I'm in the middle of it right now and it's really good! It's about an English professor at Tufts who becomes a nurse. Very well written, obviously, and gives me a lot of insight into the nursing profession.

Professor T...I don't know you personally but have really enjoyed reading your posts...I feel like I know a little piece of you. I'm still hoping you get an interview. You have the best attitude and have kept all of us thinking positively. Thank you!

Professor T-you and I have two things in common. I also teach English and also haven't heard. Good luck to you in your pursuits; I'm confident we will both make good nurses someday.

ProfessorT, do not give up! Not only are they probably still emailing out interviews, but you still have another school to hear back from, and there will be a spring class at Duke as well! Do not, I repeat, DO NOT give up!

would any of you guys that received interviews mind giving us a little bit about you backgrounds? maybe past jobs, schools attended, GPA or experience? I know that duke accepts a wide range of people but I'm trying to figure out my chances going forward! I had a 3.6 GPA at Ohio State & am an ovarian cancer survivor, not a lot of hands on health care experience and only 23 years old, recent graduate! I am so happy for all of you and won't give up till I hear either way!

Interviewing Feb 22nd! Still have lots of questions about financial aid and how to finance a degree from Duke, but excited to get down there and see what it's all about!
