I'm interested in the Fetal and Neonatal Secrets book- can anyone share more about this and why you like it/dislike it? Thanks!

Ditto what the others have said: Merenstein and Neofax.

NICU_Nurse,

The reason I love the "Fetal and Neonatal Secrets" book is because, although it's geared for Neonatologists and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner types, it's full of wonderful information. I especially like it because it's written in a question and answer format... like you are talking with a friendly colleague who is like a mentor, asking you questions and then telling you the answers in a way that feels like you're not stupid for asking about a certain procedure, condition, or whatever. It's divided up into chapters like most books... Cardiology, Respiratory, etc. so it's pretty easy to find the information you're looking for. Sometimes I see these "Secrets" books at regular bookstores like Books-A-Million. I know of one for Pediatric related subject matter.

:coollook: One of the best books for NICUs would have to be: Neonatal Medications and Nutrition: A Comprehensive Guide, 3rd Edition, even if your unit uses another medication book, this book is invaluable for its info on compatibility of drugs nutritional info and other medication information that you try to find, but can't in other med books. I LOVE this book!! Every unit should have one. A big plus is also that the meds are listed in alphabetical order.
