Wagner College 2011

U.S.A. New York

I'm a traditional transfer student who applied to Wagner for 2011. I saw on this board that some people had interviews. Were you guys all in the accelerated? Has anyone received an acceptance or rejection? Does anyone know when we will hear???

Congrats Deana on getting accepted.. First semester is monday-thursday.. If you work this will probably be the only semester in which you can squeeze a few hrs in.. Don't start on site clinical until the 6th week.. You will have one class a day plus a clinical... Overall the load isn't bad, but it takes a minute to get adjusted to the craziness.. And the program is about 55 -60 k, but the school gives you a 10 percent discount every semester..

Hey guys I am new to this site but I have my interview tomorrow and I am so nervous! Does anyone know if everyone who applied to the accelerated program gets an interview, or does that mean that we made it to the final stages? Deana Marie- I also live in suffolk and if i get accepted I would want to move to staten island as well!

Hey everyone!

First off, CONGRATS to all who have been accepted! I plan on applying for the accelerated program for summer 2012. For this who have been accepted, what were your gpa and your grades for the prereqs?

Also, Deana Marie, you stated you got in for the accelerated fall program? I wasn't aware that there was an accelerated fall program. I thought it began in the summer? Please clarify for me as I need all the info I can get!

=)

Hi Everyone!!

First off, CONGRATS to all who have been accepted!!!

I plan on applying for the 2012 accelerated BSN program and would like more info on the entire application process. For those who have been accepted, what was your overall gpa like? and how were your grades for the prereqs? I would like an idea of where my grades should be before I apply.

Also, Deana Marie, you stated that you got accepted (CONGRATS AGAIN =)) to the accelerated program for the fall. I wasn't aware that there was an accelerated fall program. I thought it began in the summer? Please clarify for me as I need all the info I can get!

Poettree,

Yes there is a 15 month accelerated program that begins late Aug ( Fall start). They require an BA undergrad degree in any other discipline. I had a 3.2 in my undergrad and a 3.7 in my pre -reqs.

Amanda Marie,

Good luck with your interveiw, don't be nervous, just be yourself ! They interview everyone that meets the requirements 3.0 or high and most of the pre reqs completed. You can email me at [email protected] so we can keep one another posted on information !

Deana

Poettree,

I had a 4.0 in my prereqs and a 3.4 in undergrad.. Program starts in August and you graduate the following December.

But there are lots of people who had low 3.0 for there GPA in both undergrad and Prereqs and made it in..

golfinrican,

You had said that a 77% is passing. Of course nursing school is not easy, but is it difficult to get that? What type of tests are they? Mutiple choice? I always have studied my butt off, but was always a high B student, never was an A student no matter how hard I studied. Just not a good test taker, so I am nervous this will be an issue. Any advice?

Deana

Wow really? Do you know how many students they admit since its only once a year? I plan on striving to get the highest gpa I can for both cumulative and prereqs. Your words gives me hope since I'm in the 3.1gpa range. I hope to get it to at least a 3.4.

Deana Marie,

I don't think that getting above a 77% is a problem. But its always the pressure of always having to do well. I think those who didn't get the grades needed or failed out, lacked the motivation to study enough. If you study hard and do practice problems you should do fine.. It will be challenging, but if you want it bad enough it shouldn't be a problem..

Good luck with everything..

Deana Marie

My advice is--- don't fall behind and make the program a top priority...
