VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Thank you! I've been lurking this thread for awhile now and I've been taking notes.

Deep down, I'm nervous about not passing this test because people on here have failed so that gives me a chance that I might fail too but I'm studying nonstop! I'm downpacked with everything, I'm just scared that the time limit is whats going to kick me in the butt. :uhoh21:

for all of u who are scared, dont be! its 9th grade math; fractions, adding and substracting, percentages, etc; and the reading? a Joke! if you passed 11th grade, you'll get over a 9 (which is passing). its short essay you read, and answer questions directly from the passage. My advice, practice your fractions!!!

i picked up my application this past monday, and my test date is feb 8th....im not nervous just hopeful but i have been studying so that should pay off....i really hope i get in....good luck to everyone....is it me or is $200 kinda high to take a entrance test?...lol:d

damn its 200$ now? it was 175$ last feb.. veeb is money hungry, so am i shocked, no not really...

Yup its $200 now...

Rumor around school is Veeb is moving its location. May want to ask where the relocation is before paying and being accepted just to find out they are too far away to commute. Rumor is closer to Manhattan.

O_O When did this happen? It's going to throw off all my plans if it happens. :/

yeah.. thats what i heard as well.. but near manhattan? damn.. it'll be more benefical to go to boces in suffolk.. but the school's current location is doo doo so moving doesnt seem so bad:yeah:

Again the RUMOR is near Manhattan....We all know how rumors work so dont go on this alone. But I would ask before paying for the test just in case it messes up anyones plans.:)

Well I guess veeb could have posted something about relocating on their website if that was true. And they could have done that before they send out applications. That's such a crappy rumor!

Our instructors have confirmed that Veeb is def relocating but no one knows where. No they will not post it because then they wouldnt be able to milk the money from potential students...

You guys have to take into account that VEEB operates on a non for profit basis and since the economic downturn, they've been getting gradual cuts in state/county funding, so they have to make up for it somehow.

Even if they do move, they have to stay within Nassau's boundaries I would assume. I would advise you guys to still apply, but just don't put all your eggs in one basket, pay a little extra now and be prepared later.

And after my first week in my RN program, all I can say is VEEB has given me a pretty strong clinical background. The methods are a little different and everything is more detailed and assessment based, but I feel really prepared. The rest seems like a formality at this point, but it's definitely a long road ahead.

The best of luck to all of you taking the exam, keep practicing until you feel comfortable, it's not that bad.
