Anyone on here applying to the University at Buffalo for the ABS program starting in May of 2015?

ok. i'll stop stressing about it until i speak to them then lol. i took PS 201 Developmental Psycholoy so if its the same one you took then it shouldnt be a problem then.

Hey guys! Congrats on your acceptances! I'm in the current ABS cohort and am going to want to sell my scrubs, UB nursing polo shirt and lab coat once we finish up this spring semester. I have 3 sets of scrubs (size small), one small polo shirt (which you use for community clinicals), and one size small lab coat (which you really don't use but they make you buy anyway. I wore it once). The sizes are unisex. You'll get to meet current ABS people at your orientation in April (which is also when you order all of your supplies), and I would be happy to bring my stuff to that if anyone is interested. Also, if anyone has questions, feel free to ask!

For those of you who are in the current class, (or anyone else who may know)... what is the timeline generally like between graduating and starting to work? For example, how soon do we take the NCLEX, how quickly do those results come back, etc. I'm looking forward to being gainfully employed again!

The timeline for all of that is really up to you. It takes a couple of weeks after graduation for UB to send all of the information to the state board to get you authorized to sit for the NCLEX. Once that's all set you get an email saying that you're cleared to register. Once you get that you can expect to take the test within 30 days if you want to take it right away- they offer you an appointment based on availability. So the earliest you'll probably take the NCLEX is late June, early July. I know that during clinicals this fall the floor that I was on had a lot of new grad nurses who were just starting their first job in mid September.

Has anyone taken Applied Physiology at ECC online? It's one of my last prerequisites and I'm just trying to get some insight on how her exams are, since that's what your entire grade is based upon. I'd appreciate any help!

Have you heard anything about your wait list position since we submitted our in progress coursework? I do not want to keep bombarding them with emails. haha

Hello! So I am applying to the ABS program for 2016. I am a little worried and am reaching out for some insight on the program. I have 6 of the 9 Pre reqs completed with a current pre req GPA of 3.9 and undergrad 3.1 :/ I am also currently volunteering at a hospital. What are my chances that I will be accepted with this information?! thanks!

Hi! I just graduated from the ABS program. I had a 3.8 prereq gpa and a 3.1 overall. It depends on the rest of the applicants, but your chances are good :)

Ah! Thank you so much for the reply, it is nice to gain some insight from others. How did you like the program?!

I liked it! Its pretty tough but you learn so much. You have to be really organized and self motivated, but almost all of us made it in my cohort :)

I'm in the current program, last final of the semester is tomorrow, yesss!

We found it Dec 18th last year. My stats were overall gpa 3.0 prereqs 3.9 and I wrote strong essays and also explained why my overall was not that great. You all are free to pick my brain lol I'm off for six weeks and will have plenty of free time, I would of loved to have someone in the program to answer questions for me while I was in the application process!!

Hi! I have these exact same stats and am looking to apply next year for fall 2017. I was wondering if you took the prereq's at UB? Also how I can improve my essay portion to explain my gpa (I know why I am just curious of yours). If you may share, I know how old this post is, I would greatly appreciate it very much!! Thank you!!
