nothing should happen with your NY application until they receive CVS. I doubt it makes much difference in time except CVS takes approx 6-8 months

so in my case, I sent the required application form & draft bank cheque etc. and the postal company confirmed that is was successfully delivered. Now, my question is: do NYSED send letter or at least email to confirm that the documents have been received? thanks

I can't remember receiving anything from them except the go ahead to register with pearsonvue to get my ATT

No there is no notification nor correspondence activity from NYSED to applicants which cgfns does have. I cant even get a chance to talk to them through phone call. Their line has always been busy :/ Postal mail is their only mode of communication if they need further documents from you.
