SW Boces Entrance Exam

Hi everyone!! I applied to Southern Westchester Boces and I am scheduled to take my entrance exam next Thursday. I am looking for anyone who has attended or has recently been accepted to the school. Or even anyone who knows anything about the test and scores needed in order to get accepted. I'm getting very nervous about the exam and any advice would be appreciated. I am curious to know how students are accepted - what scores are they looking for? Thank you!

No I didn't received anything except the letter of acceptance which included instructions on how to sign up for castle branch ( I didn't sign up for castle branch yet ) what package are we supposed to receive ?

The packet contains the reading list and homework that's due the first week of orientation ...the castle branch site everything is due aug 19. Includes our immunizations background check and the drug testing

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to sign up for Castle Branch but I lost the directions and I keep playing phone tag with Boces to get it. Does anyone have a copy they can snap a picture of?

And package names are SN46Day (daytime part time) ...SN46evening (evening part time) SN46full for fulltime

I received my scores in the mail on Monday. My overall score was 88 percentile. I had 89 percentile in reading comprehension, math 39 percentile, and language ability and usage 99 percentile. I know I was going to do bad in the math because I started running out of time. I hope my scores are high enough to get in even though my math was low.

Hello! This is my first time joining and posting. I just took the exam last week, on 7/17 and am now waiting for my results and for an interview. For anyone who has recently applied and gotten accepted, how was your interview? I saw a couple posts back that the questions were like this:

Why do you want to be a nurse?

Would you be interested in doing the day or night program? Why do you chose the day program (or night program)?

Tell me a time where you experienced something difficult and how did you overcome it?

Tell me the most difficult decision you ever had to make?

What is your greatest weakness?

Who will be supporting you while you attend school?

What does a Licensed Practical Nurse do?

Do you plan on working while attending school?

Do you have any other commitments (for example childcare)?

Do you have children? (they're really not supposed to ask this question..)

What qualities do you have that will help you progress in the program?

1. Why do you want to be a LPN.

2. What are the duties of a LPN

3. What are the challenges you think you will have

4. What is/was the hardest decision you had to make in your life

5. How do you plan to study

6. How do you plan to pay for school

So I was just wondering if they're still the same questions? How long after your exam did you get your results and interview call? They told us 3 weeks. Thank you!

Hey ! They def asked why u want to be an Lpn. What does an LPN do. Your study habits..how have you been preparing for this course ...who are your support system...how will you be able to pay for school ...why did u choose to apply to Boces lpn program ..those are the ones I remember ! Goodluck ! Do your best !!
