Stony Brook Nursing Basic BSN Fall 2013 applicants

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey guys! So I just applied to the SBU Basic (2 year) program a couple of days ago. I thought it would be nice to start a forum. Feel free to ask any questions! And good luck to all who are applying!!!

I didn't hear anything yet either!

What do you think emily, good or bad?? From ur previous posts it seemed like they wanted you.

Well I hope its good news! My mom said that she was reading through previous years forums as well and that the acceptances came in "waves" like they would send a bunch out one day, then a bunch out the next day, and do that for a few days. She also said that she thinks they sent out all the rejections first so that people can move on to other schools, and then send out all the acceptances and stuff. There is also a possibility that we could get waitlisted...but I hope that's not the case!!!!!

I got accepted! So excited, amazed and stoked!!!! Still can't believe it!

Congrats to all of you guys who are accepted! You guys are going to be awesome!! :)

However ...I Only received acceptance on solar. Still have yet to receive an email?

Hey...I made a page on Facebook.... search for Stony Brook School of Nursing Class of 2015

Make sure you don't have it set as private or secret, I too cannot find the page?

Anyone know what the schedule is like in the Fall? I need to start figuring out what I am going to do with my kids on days when I have to be up at school before they leave for school...

i also have a question about the schedule. is it possible to be working part-time while doing this program? i'm going to try to work something out with my job.

Yes, anyone who has insight on what our schedule will be like the first semester and what textsbooks we need vs. what we shouldn't buy. And what kind of supplies we need, do we need to buy uniforms, ect.

Hey everyone, congrats to everyone accepted!

I will be applying to stony brook 1 and 2 year programs next year and just have 2 questions for all you accepted.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your GPA in your science prereqs? And also, do any of you have volunteer experience in a medical setting? I heard that helps alot but since I work full-time its hard to find time to do that. i was wondering if it was considered like a requirement or just a recommendation for acceptance into the program.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hey my average in the science classes was about a 3.7 and I did have volunteer experience in a medical setting since I currently go to school for ultrasound and are assigned clinical sites. Hope this help
