Saint Vincent's Hospital - The Last Shout

Last Friday, 6 July 2012, Saint Vincent's hospital exited bankruptcy court. Nothing is left except a contract for military healthcare and a fund to pay malpractice claims. Everything else has been sold off, closed, let go, terminated, gone.

For those of us lucky enough to have known the place maybe in ten or twenty years we can walk by the corner of West 12th Street and Seventh Avenue and tell our grandchildren about the wonderful hospital that once stood there for over 160 years, where now stands ritzy housing whose residents will probably look at us as if we're crazy.
