Hi, guys. Quick background: RN with 2 years experience in tele/med surg. Currently living in Miami but planning to move to NY.

I was wondering if the hospital per diem market in NYC is as bad as full time gigs seem to be right now?

Will the fact that I prefer per diem and night shifts help in any way? And conversely, can the fact that I don't have a BSN hurt my chances significantly?

Thanks in advance.

The Per Diem market is better than the full time one, hospitals are using Per diem and travel nurses to fill the holes while they train or try to fill open positions. Some hospitals are only hiring per diem, the problem you may have is that many nurses are going back to per diem at hospitals they worked at already(giving them an edge) Just check websites many have ads or listings online. Good Luck!

Thanks a lot for the info, Megan.
