Question on State hospitals

Do the State psychiatric hospitals in NYC and in NY state have medical units within their facility?

And if so does anyone happen to know some further information about them?

Hey-- I am not familiar with all of the NYS Psych Hospitals but the ones that I DO know don't have medical units providing inpatient care but they do have affiliates ( I work for a state psych hospital that is connected to Columbia-Presbytarian) or they are a large state hospital that has both psych units AND medical units. Does this help?

Thank you Suzanne, that helps alot. I currently am a Travel nurse that works on a small medical unit in a State psychiatric facility in NC. I have enjoyed it so much that I was wondering if that occured up North. Although I do realize that the state of psychiatry is very different up North. Do you mind me asking what State facility you work in and if there are any agencies or travel nurses in it?
