NYU BSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi everyone,

There was no forum for NYU BSN applicants, so I thought I'd start one. Hello, is there anybody out there?

Hi everyone! I applied to NYU's BSN program as a transfer student in late January and got accepted April 4th. I just talked to a counselor today who said that there are several rounds, or groups of admitted students. She said I was in the first batch, but there are more to come! So everyone who hasn't gotten accepted yet, there is much hope! I agree with, Mzungu10 in that there should be a Facebook group for admitted students for Fall 2012! I'm from California so I pretty much know no one from NYC, but I'm looking forward to this incredible experience as well as meeting great friends/colleagues. Congrats to everyone who was accepted!!!

Thanks for the hope!!! I submitted my application in February so I was getting a bit worried..... But im pleased to hear that they are accepting students on a rolling basis...OMG why are they torturing me!!!!!

Congratulations to those that were accepted! I am anxiously waiting for a reply, I applied in February so I am extremely nervous now. They had contacted me to confirm that I am taking a Microbiology class so I don't know whether or not to take that as a good sign or bad, does anyone have an opinion?! Thanks!!!!

I would definitely take that as an GOOD sign. They are pretty hectic over there, so if they took time out to call you personally then I am sure you're in!!! Keep us posted!

Thanks joyful for the support! I don't think I have ever been so nervous! They sent me that email around March 30th though so I am not sure since the first round of acceptances went out. Can only hope for the best and expect the worst!

In response to katemary, I'm finishing up my third year in college and have an overall 3.6 college gpa, and a 3.9 in the prerequisites. I don't think this is what is needed to get accepted though. I'm pretty sure that if your essays were solid they would accept a 3.3 or so overall gpa. Unlike many BSN programs, NYU accepts a lot of students so they are able to be lenient in areas. What I have learned from my experiences as well as my other pre-nursing friends is that persistence is the key. If you don't get accepted to your first choice school, more often then not there will be another opportunity, and it might even be better than what you initially planned. I hope this helps, the waiting process is brutal, but good luck nonetheless! Oh and I volunteered at my local Hospital for over 100 hours when I applied.

Hi, I applied as a second degree transfer student. My application was received March 7th for regular decision. Did anyone receive an acceptance letter that applied around this time? Thanks

Like everyone else, I was anxiously waiting for any decision...and as of this morning I got an email that I was accepted!! Good luck to those still waiting! I applied in early Feb, so the notification process seems to be random but rolling.

Hi g0090,

May I ask what were your credentials?

As soon as I hear from financial aid I will start a facebook group if one is not started already ... I'm still waiting to hear back from a few other school in the northeast and what they will offer for aid as well.

I had a 3.8 for a previous degree in Anthropology/Social work and 4 A's and 2 B+'s for pre-reqs. I was a Peace Corps volunteer in East Africa for 2 years, thats where the word 'mzungu' comes from, it means white person in Swahili.

I can't wait to meet everyone, I'm about 99% sure I'll be accepting this offer to NYU. Good luck to everyone else still waiting.

That is impressive! Congrats on your acceptance! I am extremely nervous since I will only be graduating from UCONN in May so I don't have the same experience. It seems that they sent out the notifications again today, does anyone know if they send them on Fridays; maybe I still have hope?! I am getting so nervous.

I'm thinking about starting the Facebook group tonight if there isnt one already woohoo =]

I also need to a few names to start the group! Feel free to provide me your Facebook name!

Thanks in advance!

I am extremely jealous of everyone that can accept without having to see their financial aid first... sigh.

@Lalala120 I only applied to NYU and Samuel Merritt here in California. Decisions for Samuel Merritt won't be out until June so I have no choice but to accept the offer ahead of time. =/ Also I'm planning on taking out loans to pay for most of school.
