Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?

When did you start the program? I don't have a recommendation as of yet. The website says it is optional so I am considering not sending one (because I am not really close with any of my professors) but I wanted to know if people get accepted this way. I have a high GPA, volunteer experience, and a a good essay.
Thanks

Hello Everyone,
This is my first time posting. I too have gotten my application out and now am sitting around impatiently waiting. I realize the decisions are a ways away but..... I can honestly say not a day goes by where I don't think about it. Extremely excited.

Hi everyone! I'm curious if anyone applied to anywhere else. I've applied to NYU and Pace too, are there other programs with admittance into summer/fall 2013?
I applied to 4 other programs, but none were in NYC.
I only applied to nyu as it was the only option I saw that would allow me to apply while still completing pre reqs
Where else did you apply if you don't mind me asking?

I just started this semester (Spring 2013). I was really concerned about not submitting one at first, but I called NYU and spoke to an admissions counselor who basically told me it's a very small portion of what they consider when they are looking at the application. In my case I applied to NYU close to the deadline and didn't have a chance to get a letter before applications were due- that's why I didn't submit one. Perhaps you could get a letter from your volunteer experience? I don't think it has to be academic. It's definitely competitive to get in so I would try to submit something if possible.
Nycnursetobe2014 how do you like nyu so far? Having read some older post about the school it really scared me.
