NY BON Moral Character Review

U.S.A. New York

Good morning everyone! I recently passed my NCLEX-PN on 8/15. I still have not received my licence, or even a licence number. So I finally called the other day to see what the deal was. Apparently my application is under "Moral Character Review". This is due to an incident I had as a brand new CNA a few years ago, where a patient fell and was injured. Long story short, I was at fault and I paid a civil penalty. This allowed me to keep an unencumbered CNA certification, and not have my name sent to the board. I have since then continued working at the same place this happened at and I am now working there as a graduate practical nurse. I disclosed all this to the board when I applied for my licence, but I guess I thought that since they let me sit for my state boards the review had already been done. Has anyone else been through something similar? How long do their reviews typically take? My director of nursing assures me it's going to be fine, hang in there, yada yada..but I worked really hard for this l. I was st the top of my class in school, gave the speech at graduation and all that. I'm going to be devastated if I did all this just to get denied in the end!

Just wanted to wish you the best. The fact that your employer has placed you in a GN position as well as retained you as an employee, says a lot. Hang in there!
