I have finished my BSN from india and i have been waiting for cgfns report but it seems like they are going to take more time. Or may be 6 more months.. I thought of doing CNA till the time cgfns process is done but m confused.. CNA courses cost almost onw thousand dollara and takes few months to complete.. Am also not sure i will find a job after doing this course..and the sad part is i dont have experience .. I graduated last year in june.. Any guidance and suggestions are welcome.. I am volunteering at a near by city hospital once a week.. Will nurse extern work for foreign nurse?? I will appreciate any help.. Thank you..

A lot of hospitals in the city (and elsewhere) don't require any certification or anything other than high school to be a nursing assistant. Have you thought about doing that? You won't get to use your nursing skills exactly but you'll get to be in a hospital and work with patients! Have you thought about doing that?

Average time for CVS with CGFNS is 6 months and then add another couple of months to NY reviewing your application before making decision to sit NCLEX
