I had just came on here to ask the same thing!!!! I have a program starting next year, but when I saw that they had part-time also, I was thinking about seeing if they still had room this fall and if not, applying for the spring. (I am thrilled they offer admissions twice a year!) I have dealt with them in the past, and they were so much nicer and more helpful then the one I am suppose to start next year. Do you know if they are full for this fall?

hey!

i'm guessing that they are full for the fall. i interviewed in the beginning of April (i'm pretty sure...i remember there was still snow on the ground..) and they only had 7 seats left. i was told that they were making decisions on the last monday of that month. i got one of the seats.

of course some people may have backed out! give em a call!

are you attending "the other" nursing school in syracuse?

i visited there and was instantly turned off.

let me know how it goes!

:)

Hey! Yeah, I am suppose to be attending the "other" one next June, but if I get told one more time, "You are not my priority right now" I am going to scream! Getting help from them, a call back or even 30 seconds of their time is like pulling teeth.

And this is just the admissions office!

So if I find a school that has their stuff together a little better, than I am going to go for them. I can pretty much predict that everyone is full for this fall, but it is no big deal to wait until next fall.

Anyway, good luck at Crouse! I have heard wonderful things about them!

then what IS their #1 priority if it isn't the students??!!!

i went to an open house of about 20 and felt like a number. everyone that asked a question was told to call so-and-so later on during the week. the school has a lot to offer and i only attended an open house...so i could be wrong.

i really wasn't planning on attending crouse...i really had my heart set on your school. then i visited both and crouse quickly rose to my #1. i had heard tons of great things about your school and nothing about crouse from students.

i guess i just felt more comfortable there. everyone has been extremely helpful and pleasant.

congrats and good luck with whichever you choose!! :balloons: :)

The people at Crouse are very helpful! The woman I spoke with today called me back instantly and let me know that they are full for the fall and only take 24 for the spring. The only thing was that they require I have anatomy & physiology from OCC and I live up by Watertown so I am getting my A&P from JCC. Too bad though, I really liked them.

The reason I originally chose my school was because of their every other weekend program. I have a one year old daughter and that fit into my schedule the best.

Keep in touch and we can always compare notes! I want to work in Syracuse when I finish so maybe I will run into you someday! Lots of luck to you!

Hi, just saw this so sorry it's so late! I go to Crouse, and am starting my second semester in a few weeks :) It really is a great school! But one of my friends took a&p at a school other than OCC, so I think I would question why they said they would only accept it from there? Sounds sort of weird. I was going to go to the "other" school myself, since I have 3 kids and thought it would work into my schedule better too, but I am soooo thankful I didn't commit myself to that- it's so nice to not have to go to classes on the weekends, at all, and that program is year round too, where Crouse isn't. Good luck with everything!!!

Thanks for the info! I have decided to start a LPN program this fall though, so I guess I am not going to be going to either of them. I am trying to learn everything I can about the LPN-BSN through Indiana State University b/c that would be the most convienient of all! But if that doesn't pan out, then I know that I would choose Crouse over "the other school" just by how helpful and nice they have been.

The OCC thing was for entering in the spring so maybe it wouldn't matter to much if I was starting in the fall? Because of our winters though, I was worried about the commute.

Anyway, thanks again for the info & I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your schooling! :)

Specializes in Hey I'm now an RN!!.

HI Chevelle!

I am not sure about distances and where you need to go to nursing school, but in Utica about 45 min from Syracuse is St Elizabeth NS- I am going there and they offer a night/weekend program. I don't know if you even were looking for that info but it might be another option??? Everyone I talk to has nothing but good things to say about the, lots of hands on clinical experience. The web addy is www.stemc.org if you wanted to check it out. Good luck to you.
