BMCC Pre-clinical students

For all of you currently attending BMCC, do you have an alternate plan if you don't make it into their nursing program? I am a full time employee and attend school full-time as well. I average A's and B's but from what I see at BMCC you have to pretty much get A's or -A on those PCI classes. I heard that for this spring semester the cut off was a 3.77 GPA again!!! I haven't seen that GPA go lower than that except in the fall of 02' or 03'?! and chances are they are not going to go lower than that because of the demand in nursing. Anyone has any suggestion e.g another school? or an LPN route? :uhoh21:

Well, if you are looking to get into their day time Nursing program, then, yes, the cut off GPA index will probably be at 3.7. The evening program is the best bet because its cutt off GPA index usualy fluctuates between a 3.2 - 3.4.

Good Luck!

you don't know how happy i would be if that was the case, but i spoke to mr. s*****'s assistant and he told me that the morning cut off is 3.77 for the spring and the evening 3.70..... so from what i have been hearing the gpa cut offs from the morning and evening are not that much of a difference. who told you this info regarding the evening gpa?

i do hope you are right though, but that's not what i have been hearing.:crying2:

That's what I heard from the reputable drink "Sierra Myst". That's the guideline that I have been told of. The morning program's cut-off point is always above a 3.7, because they have such a shortage of professors that they need to do it this way.

Now, to clarify what his assistant(soft-spoken dude with the gentle accent) told you, here is the clencher, because of the fact that the Day program is hard to get into, whoever is not accepted into the day program, automatically becomes a candidate for the evening program. So those individuals that might have been cut off due to their not achieving a 3.77 or higher, then are placed in the evening program (That's if they want to do evenings of course).

So, now, you must take into consideration that the evening program already has a large amount of people that purposely applied to only the evening program due to their particular financial/time constraints AND then consider that those day time program students who didnt make it will also be candidates for the same evening program....... It becomes a tough issue if you ask me...

The last I heard, the cut off GPA for the evening program was more like a 3.3 or 3.4, maybe it was higher for this present year, but Im not too sure...

i don't know why i have been hearing otherwise, because i heard that last semester the cut off for the evening was 3.77 for evening as well as daytime and i heard that this semester the cut off is 3.77 daytime and 3.70 evening....... and in regards to what you was saying:
