Best Facility to Work in New York for New Grads
- 0Dec 22, '09 by simplyashley21I am a pre-nursing (BSN) student with a keen interest in living in New York. More specifically, I am looking to live in Brooklyn. What is the best place to work as a new grad? Why? What starting salary should a new grad at the specified facility expect? Is the hospital worth the commute? All other advice is welcomed regarding theses facilities as well.

However though, if the economy does get better and employment is not such a scarce thing and they lift the hiring freeze, then aim for the teaching hospitals like New York Methodist and Maimonides Medical Center.
Most facilities in NYC are between 60-70K a year as a starting salary.
As far as the commute, well Brooklyn is a large borough so it depends on what part you live in which will determine the commute.
