Anyone hear from Univ of Rochester for May 2010 cohort?

Has anyone heard if they got in yet? Or how much longer we will be waiting?

Hey Xtina! No, I haven't heard anything yet. They told me back in September that they'd send out notifications late December/early January. Is that what they told you, or has it changed? I'd love to know if I should be biting my nails yet!

My interviewer told me late Nov, but I think she was wrong. Hopefully soon though!

OMG! I just called to find out when letters were going out, and she NOW through mid-February! She said it's drawn out b/c they interview everyone. I asked if there was early application/early notification correlation, and she said no.

Now I'm totally freaking out and will be stalking my poor mailman each and every day!

OMG that's ridiculous! That gives us like 3 months to move...I am from California and have never even been to Rochester!...this is driving me nuts! I guess it is a little comforting to know everyone else is freakin out as much as me! :)

Xtina - I know, that's a crazy long time to stress - I don't know if my heart can take it! I really didn't plan to camp out at the mailbox for at least another week or two. Haha! Has anyone posted on another thread about getting a letter yet? I haven't seen anything, but this Rochester group seems pretty quiet on this board so far. I am applying to another school and we've all been talking for months. It's so helpful to have other people to stress out with! I'm sure people will start posting once they hear, don't you think?

Where in California? I used to be in San Francisco, but I'm in South Carolina now. My parents retired to San Diego County and my sister is in Pasadena. I haven't been to Rochester yet either, but from the sound of it we'll both be buying some serious winter gear if we end up there!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for us both!

I'm in San Francisco! Yeah, the weather actually scares me! I went to college in Philly, so I got a little taste, but nothing as intense as Rochester. Where else are you applying? I got accepted to Regis Univ in Colorado, so I guess I will just plan on going there until I hear, although Rochester is suppose to be a better program. It would be a great xmas treat if they would just let us know already! :)

When I was out there I worked downtown on Sutter at Union Square, and I lived in Burlingame. Yes, we'll both have to prepare for some serious seasons! Would you be moving yourself, or do you have to relocate a family? That would be tough, I'm sure. Personally it's just me, so I can just pack up my little dogs and hop in the car. Sort of:)

Congratulations on Regis! That's awesome! I sure wish I had an acceptance to calm my nerves right now. I was really interested in the Colorado area myself, and I know I looked at Regis, but I can't remember why I didn't apply. Other than Rochester, I applied to Duke, and we're all waiting to hear if we'll be invited to interview. That is no easy wait, let me tell you! I was also planning to apply to UF in Gainesville, but their deadline isn't until March 1, so I figure I'll wait to hear from the others first.

I really like Rochester's program and I think everyone there has been great so far. I thought I had a pretty good chance after the interview, but they told me on the phone today that they had a ton of applications, so I'm nervous again. Can you believe I didn't remember to ask HOW MANY applicants? Ugh!

Luckily it would just be moving me...I can't imagine having to raise a family while going to nursing school! I give people who do it major credit! That's cool that you worked in downtown SF, i'm living and working in the inner sunset, by UCSF and I love the area! I will definitely be sad to leave but happy to begin a new career. Keep me updated as you start to hear from your school! Good luck! :)

Thanks. Definitely keep me posted on what's happening on your end too. Hopefully others will join in the nail biting with us! ;)

I was called yesterday for an AMPNN interview, but I declined because I have decided to attend another school. Rochester is a great school. I wish you all the best of luck! Xtina, which college in Philly did you go to?

MPH girl,

I went to Villanova and graduated in '08
