Questions on RN license endorsement for New Jersey

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

HI, I have a few questions to ask and I hope that somebody can help me. I got my nursing degree in Scotland several years ago. When I moved to Florida four years ago I had to go through the process of having my transcripts send over here to be evaluated(which took for bloody ever and a day) and then I had to sit the dreaded Nclex exam. Happily I passed and I have been licensed as an RN here for three years.

Now my youngest son is very sick:cry: and I have to move to New Jersey as I have family there to help me with my child (he needs a lot of care).I have to work as I need the medical insurance for my kid. I am in the process of applying for licensure in New Jersey and have everything ready to be sent off once I get my finger print card filled in. Now I just had a terrible thought that I may have to send my transcripts of training all over again and sit the Nclex all over again.

If anyone knows the answer could they please help me. Also is it true that it takes six months to get your license there?

Thank you in advance and Happy Holidays :yeah:

You shouldn't have to sit NCLEX again but may have to meet the BON requirements for foreign trained nurse and if that means CES then you will have to arrange for your transcripts to be sent to CGFNS. If in doubt contact the BON

Thank you for your reply. I shall call the BON in NJ and see what they say!

Best wishes
