yes, I took it Oct. 11th. I got an 84% overall. My test scores were scattered so, I am not sure if that is ok. What I mean is I got a 88% in biology but only a 72% in chemistry; a 90% in reading and vocabulary but only a 82% in math. so it all averaged out to 84%. it was my first crack at it and I could take it again. I just didn't want to if I didn't have to. anyway, how about you? did you take it yet?

i took it on the 1st. i got a 90 overall. but the general info im getting from most people is if you have a's in the sciences and at least an 80 on the hesi then you have a really good chance. have you taken ap2 yet? and how did you do on the critical thinking portion?

congrats on a 90% -- that's awesome! I also got the impression that being in the 80's is fine if you have A's in your sciences. I might go talk to an advisor about my score and see what kind of feedback I get. I have to re-take A&P I & II. I already took them both but they were at the 100 level which would be fine for their curriculum requirements if I took them at GCC not CCC. Right now, I am at CCC doing the pre-reqs. and GCC won't allow me to transfer 100 level sciences - only 200. On a good note, I did get an A in both Chemistry I & II and Microbiology. So far so good. I got an 850 in critical thinking. How about you? No idea if this will help me but, I was accepted to Rutgers-Camden in the Spring and did take one nursing class there over the summer and received an A (why I'm not there is a long story). Just recently I've been considering applying to their the program again. I'm already accepted to the college, I would just need to reapply to the nursing program. Anyway, I am also on the honor society at CCC. I had wondered if either of those two factors would help me any. You should be fine with a 90% though -- that's a very good grade. I don't know, maybe I should give the test another shot. That test is just so painful :eek: lol

Thanks! Wow interesting about the a&p 1 and 11. Were they not college level courses at CCC? So strange that they won't transfer over. I got an 800 critical thinking. So did you have to take the TEAS V to get into Rutgers? I am not sure if it will help you or hurt you that you've been in nursing classes before. But I do know that they make a big deal about disclosing every college you've been to so they can see what you've done. As for the honor society..I don't know about GCC but at other nursing programs they told me it doesnt really make a difference because they just go by GPAS and test scores anyway. And also, some programs look at your GPA from just the prereqs but GCC looks at your entire GPA when you apply, I do know that. Are you currently taking AP1 now or what prereqs are you taking? On the application it has rooms for your ap1 or 2 grade or highschool science grade. Which one will you be using to apply? I can't wait til March. Not too far away :)

They were college level - just 100 level A&P classes. It's just a policy. If I had taken the same exact classes at GCC, they would be acceptable. But because I took them at CCC, it's an agreement between the two colleges that they won't allow students to transfer 100 level science classes, only 200 level (i.e. -- they want more money .. lol). So I have to retake them I started out as dental hygiene major, that's why my A&P's are not the right level. After this semester the only thing I have left is the A&P I & II. But, I am also taking statistics and biomedical ethics (because they will want it on the BSN level). Some colleges want letters of recommendation from your professor if you've taken a nursing class before. I don't believe GCC asks for that but, I have a letter from the professor already so, I am throwing that in my application. I think they most likely are trying to understand why you left one program to go to another. As long as you're in good standing with the first school, I don't think it hurts you. I have an Associate's Degree from GCC in Education from 2002. I think the GPA I have now is my overall GPA and it's good. I think I am using Chemistry I & II for what you're talking about on the application. That's what an advisor told me to do. I still have to go there and talk to someone about my HESI. I will let you know what they tell me. By the way, do you know anything about the Rowan BSN program on GCC campus? I think it may have started this semester -- it's new. You can continue at GCC and earn your BSN from Rowan after you get your RN. I can't find Rowan's curriculum for the program though. I want to ask an advisor about that when I go too. ttyl :up:

I took biomedical ethics this summer! It was easy and interesting. I am surprised they are letting you use chem 1 and 11 just because on the packet it specifically has a spot for you to fill in either your a&p1, ap2 or highschool science grade. thats why I asked. i don't know much about that program but i have taken general classes such as biomed. that they will want for bsn whereever you go. Also, will you apply to ccc nursing?

I just tried to find the curriculum too. it says you have to contac rowan directly. but i think the agreement started a year ago or so it seems.

Hi everyone! I am applying for the fall of 2014. I just took my Hesi and got a 91% overall(actually it was a 91.67 but they don't round boo!) My critical thinking score was an 840(funny cause it was a 920 the first time I took it same ?s) Do you guys think I should take the hesi again? Right now Im in A&P1. In the spring I will be taking A@P2 and Micro. Nice to meet everyone hope we get in!
