False-Positive PPD test....negative chest xray...is antiobiotic required?

As part of the nursing student testing protocol, I had 2 PPD tests performed. They both came back false positive. Then had chest xray done and it came back positive - THANKFULLY!!! My PCP prescribed me the 9 month antibiotic but I got a reaction to it and had to be taken off of it after 2 days and a visit to the ER. I have now been referred to an infectious disease doctor to see if another course of treatment is required. I am not sure what to do and frankly tired of taking time off from work, scheduling appointments and paying copays around this whole dilemna. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have an appointment next week with the infectious disease doctor because I don't want the school to hold anything against me to start in January. I have waited too long and worked too hard to not start in a few weeks. :(

Dumb questions here - why did they say your PPD's were false +? And why are you thankful to have a CXR showing evidence of TB?

Why was INH stopped?

i was thinking the same thing...

OP- your school may not allow you to start until your treatment is finished. I would check with them, and give them info on when you would be allowed to enter a healthcare facility from what the ID doc says
