Anyone here applying for fall? :)

Good luck clynne 2009, I hope we both get in(:

I hope you both get in too!!! Fingers Crossed!!! :)

Yeah, school is not cheap! I have spent a small fortune on books/uniforms/supplies. Like Christina said, I rarely used my books, mostly for reference. I can not read a text book. it doesn't work for me.

As far as learning contracts, you will get one if you show up unprepared or depending on what you're not prepared with they will deduct 3% from you overall lecture grade. I haven't had one so far *fingers crossed*. I make checklists to make sure I have everything before I leave the house and I put all sorts of alarms in my phone so I don't forget anything :)

Good luck clynne 2009, I hope we both get in(:

It would be nice to get in. It would be an amazing experience for all of us, but I'm really looking forward to meeting some amazing people and making new long-lasting friendships! :)

I hope the same for you! I think we have all worked hard to get this far and hope Thursday is a happy day for us all.

Best of luck to you all!

Just a few tips...Always, ALWAYS have a name tag with you. Either wearing it or in your back pack. I had 4. One in my car, one in hubby's car, one in my pack pack and one on me. Invest in a GOOD backpack, one with wheels is awesome. Everyone has them, so you will not be out of place. I have a Jansport and it is a back saver. You will have to wear all white, and all white shoes are sometimes hard to find, so I suggest in buying a good pair that will last you awhile. I wish I had done this. I went through so many! I recently purchased a pair of Alegria's and my feet have thanked me so many times! :p Yes, they are expensive, but oh so comfy. And, I cannot say it enough, but seriously, join the NSNA. They do SO much in the community AND you get to practice nursing skills! That is always helpful. When you get your checklist have it on you at all time in lab and clinical. You may get a 3% deduction for not having it. Also, buy a clipboard that opens up. I got one from Wal-Mart that has the calculator on it. I liked it because it was a little thicker than the others. I keep all my papers, checklist, extra pens, lip gloss and whatever else in it. Also buy the tiny pocket sized spiral notebooks. They fit well in your pocket to jot down quick notes. Oh, and buy a laser printer. You will print out a TON of stuff and it's cheaper to buy a laser printer in the long run then doing it at school. Plus more convenient! Buy good pens too. I prefer the Pilot G-2 pens, so I always have a stash with me. I know first semester is tough, not only the material but learning how to study and how to take the tests, but take it from me, learn to enjoy school. Don't just survive. Make time to do outside activities either with school people, friends or family. Don't say NO to everything. And, if you can, go to other classes pinning (Like in Dec and next may). You will see just how truly awesome this experience will be. Take LOTS of pictures too. Enjoy school. Enjoy your classmates, they will become family. Be outgoing, be a presence. It will get you far, trust me.!

Thank you sunshine daisy... Such helpful tip :)

All of you are awesome! Thanks for all the info. I feel like we are bonding on here a little bit (yes, I'm sober). I'm sure my boyfriend and friends are sick of me talking about nursing school. I feel grateful that we have each other, because we can type all we want about it on here! That pink Littman with the rainbow colored plating is SO freaking cute!

I know the feeling, I know everyone I know is sooo tired of me talking about it! As "horrible" of stories I've heard I feel like we can make the best of the next couple of years!! So exciting! Are you Full or Part time?

I completely agree with you Workinghard123!! You all understand better than anyone what we are all going through! My family and friends I'm sure are tired of my stressing also. Thursday can't get here quick enough!

Full time! I absolutely love school, so I hope to embrace the full time status, learn a lot, earn good grades, and meet likeminded people all the while. I used to work in the beverage department in a casino, so not a lot of my coworkers were "school oriented" there, so I truly appreciate being around fellow students. It's so exciting that the years of pre-reqs are finally amounting to something! WOOHOO!

ONE MORE SLEEP!!!!:dead:
